The obituary notice of John Frederick FANE

I have lived in America for the past six years, and have only just learned of John’s passing. I worked with John at Gwaelod-y-Garth House for about three years. He was a remarkable man whom I admired greatly. John’s talent as an artist was well documented, but people loved him, not just for his artistic ability, but for his stoicism in the face of his physical challenges, and his compassion towards people who were, in fact, far more physically able than he. Although I have not been in contact with John for many years, I am sad to know he is no longer with us, He always had so much to offer the world, and did so with a generosity of spirit that is rarely seen.
